CMOS reversing cameras
CMOS reversing cameras are used in the cheaper reversing camera systems. They use less power and generally give a poorer image quality than CCD cameras. They have the advantage of needing less electronics so can be packaged in smaller housings. They can also have extra features such as grind lines or wiring loops to alter settings like mirror/normal function or NTSC/PAL. More recently there has been big improvements in the image quality a CMOS sensor can produce. We now offer a number of cameras with 700 TVL resolution and these give good colour day images and CCD quality night vision. They are more expensive though with prices close to the CCD cameras.
