This camera uses a modern 700 TVL CMOS sensor that gives a performance that is equal to the CCD version. The CCD sensors are slowly being phased out as improvements in CMOS technology come in. This camera is a high quality one with a metal case. We have found in the past this style of camera is often made of plastic to reduce costs. We pay the extra for quality as we very rarely get an issue with water getting in these cameras. It uses a glass 150 degree composite lens that is specially shaped to reduce the "fish eye" effect you can get with wide angle cameras. The camera has 4 IR leds that with the aid of the vehicle lights will give a black and white view while reversing at night. The camera is available as a kit with our range of monitors.
