Introduction to product

The MON705 colour rear view monitor this system is based on uses a digital high resolution panel giving 800 x 480 pixels. It is matched with our VANCAM reversing camera which is designed for vans where the rear doors go right to the roof and curl over. It will operate at 12 or 24v with the monitor providing a stabilised power supply to the camera. It can have up to three cameras attached to the system if needed. The monitor will auto dim at night to reduce glare from the screen. It has trigger wires which can be linked to a positive power feed such as the reversing light so it comes on automatically. We have a digital wireless option available for this kit. On vehicles with CANBUS the cabled option is sometimes the easiest option to fit.

Explanation of our options

On all of our reversing camera systems we have a wide variety of cable and power options. The information below shows you what each option means.

5m 7.5m 10m 12.5m 15m 20m

These are our standard 4 pin extension cables. These options allow you to select what length you need. They are listed in metres, to get the length in feet simply multiply by 3 to change. Having longer than you need will not affect the picture, any extra cable should be coiled loosely where it cannot get damaged.

10M 8mm link, 12.5M 8mm link, 15M 8mm link

These are our 12.5m or 15m cables with an 8mm link at the front of the cable - designed to disconnect to help running through any tight gaps, then reconnected at the end of the install once you are next to the monitor.

Lighter plug

A lighter plug is a useful aid to testing as system before you fit it. Some people will run their system off a lighter plug instead of hard wiring it in.

Bailey adaptor

We do an adaptor to fit the Waeco cables that are pre-installed in Bailey Motorhomes. It converts their cable into our standard 4 pin ones. We have single camera and dual camera versions.

Stand style bracket

Stand style bracket

This is useful on our HD series of monitors where a curved dash makes mounting the U-bracket difficult. It also makes it faster and easier to remove the monitor.

Easy wire fuse tap a.k.a "piggyback fuse holders"

These can be used to take power from the fuse board. The earth should be to a point where there is bare metal to the vehicle body. The cable is about 2M long and terminates in a 2.1mm/5.5mm power plug, which fits in to the corresponding socket on the monitor wiring.  We stock these in different blade sizes, please select the type of fuse tap that is fitted to your fusebox.
